Welcome to the Pyelila Mail Club

My name is Pierre-Richard Raphaël, also known as Pyelila. I am a Haitian illustrator and visual artist, and much of my work is inspired by Haiti, the people, the colors, the humor, the food, the spirituality, the architecture, the little everyday moments, and the stories that stay with us long after we leave a place.

I created the Pyelila Mail Club as another way of telling those stories.

In a world where so much of the art we experience lives behind a screen, I wanted to create something you could actually hold. Something that could travel from my hands to yours. An envelope arriving in your mailbox filled with pieces of Haiti, pieces of my imagination, and pieces of the world I am constantly creating through my work.

A little piece of Haiti, delivered to your mailbox.

Every edition of the Pyelila Mail Club is built around art, storytelling, culture, and discovery. I design and curate each envelope myself, and the contents can change from one edition to another.

You may find an original illustrated print or postcard, a story inspired by Haitian life or one of my artworks, a Haitian recipe card, collectible paper goods, fictional Haitian postage stamps, illustrated scenes, cultural games or puzzles, and other little surprises created especially for Mail Club members.

Some pieces may make you laugh. Some may remind you of something you haven't thought about in years. Some may teach you something new about Haiti. And some may simply be beautiful things you'll want to keep.

The idea is not just to send you a collection of objects. Each envelope is meant to feel like opening a small world.

For Haitians and members of the diaspora, I hope it can bring familiar details back into your hands in unexpected ways. For those discovering Haiti through my work, I hope it offers a more intimate encounter with our culture, one told through everyday life, creativity, memory, and imagination.

Made to keep, share, frame, or collect.

Hang the artwork on your wall. Send the postcard to someone you love. Try the recipe. Solve the puzzle. Keep the fictional stamps. Put everything in a drawer and rediscover it years from now.

There is no right way to experience the Mail Club.

The important thing is that, once a month, something made with intention arrives at your door.
