Zili + Ogou

I don’t think I’ll ever be able to fully illustrate all the love stories that exist within Vodou. The love between Ogou Feray and Èzili Freda is one of them.

There are so many chapters, moments, and expressions of love.

And beyond that, love fills our cultural universe with so many words and expressions that simply have no equivalent in other languages.

Like “miyonnen.” You only have to read the word and somehow, you already understand what it means.

There are so many others that I can’t think of right now, but the feeling is always the same: the moment you hear them, you understand them, and sometimes, you can even feel them. 🌸🩷✨
