Welcome to the Pyelila Mail Society
My name is Pierre-Richard Raphaël, also known as Pyelila. I’m a Haitian illustrator and visual artist whose work is deeply inspired by Haiti, its people, colors, humor, food, spirituality, architecture, and everyday stories.
I created the Pyelila Mail Society as another way of telling those stories. In a world where so much art lives behind a screen, I wanted to create something you could actually hold, something that could travel from my hands to yours.
A little piece of Haiti, delivered to your mailbox.
Each month, I design and curate an envelope filled with art, storytelling, culture, and discovery. Inside, you may find:
- Print of the Month
- Illustrated Postcard
- Haitian Recipe Card
- Story or Cultural Feature
- Haitian Crossword or Activity
- Collectible Fictional Haitian Stamp
- Occasional surprise goodies
Every edition is different. Some pieces may make you laugh, bring back a memory, teach you something new, or simply become something beautiful you want to keep.
For Haitians and the diaspora, I hope each envelope brings a little piece of home into your hands. For those discovering Haiti through my work, I hope it offers an intimate encounter with our culture through everyday life, memory, creativity, and imagination.
Keep it. Frame it. Share it. Send the postcard. Try the recipe. Solve the puzzle. Collect the stamps.
Each envelope is meant to feel like opening a small world.
International mail can take 4-6 weeks to be delivered!
How It Works
Recurring payment: Your subscription will renew automatically on the 1st of each month after your initial payment. Your first payment is made when you join the Mail Society.
Example: If you subscribe on October 15, your first payment covers October’s Mail envelope. Your next payment will be processed on November 1 for November’s mail.
Cut-off date: The 25th of each month is the final day to join and receive that month’s Mail Society edition.
Join on or before the 25th → your first envelope will be included in that month’s mail.
Join after the 25th → your first envelope will be included in the following month’s mail.
Shipping: Mail Society envelopes for current members are prepared and mailed during the first week of each month, allowing me time to thoughtfully put together each month’s collection before it makes its way to you.
This schedule gives me the time to create, print, prepare, and package each edition with care while keeping the Mail Society simple and predictable for members.
